Starting February 10, 2024 |
Seven Week Course

Explore the wonderfully meditative art of wax carving during this seven-week intensive class. Learn how to carve, melt, texture and form hard wax to create a truly unique signet ring.

Once your chosen design has been cast in silver, I’ll show you how to transform it into a unique piece of jewellery.

This class is a lovely introduction to jewellery making for beginners or a great follow-up class for those who have completed my ‘Introduction to Working with Wax’.

A materials kit is supplied at the beginning of the course, which includes a portion of hard wax, saw blades, sandpaper and other consumables.

At the end of this course, you will have experimented with the following processes:

  • Ring sizing
  • Accurate design layout
  • Wax carving
  • Finishing

Casting fees are not included in your kit and are to be paid by students upon the return of their castings. The price can generally be estimated prior to casting. Depending on their weight and size, small to medium silver rings usually average around $40 – $80 each, while the price of larger rings will increase from there.

A small selection of silver, wax and other consumables are also available for purchase through the gallery if required.
