Seven Week Course

Are you an ambitious beginner or someone with prior jewellery-making experience who just can’t get that solder to flow? Join our experienced jeweller, Jess, as she shows you how to make your very own handmade silver chain – a wonderful project to really knuckle down on your soldering technique as well as other fine skills.

For beginners, we’ve designed an engaging course where you’ll fashion a contemporary chain link bracelet that perfectly captures your style. And for those ready to elevate their skills, our intermediate students will create a full chain that is completely unique.

Over seven weeks, we’ll delve deep into the art of accurate saw piercing, filing, sanding and soldering. Experiment with a range of interestingly shaped jump rings and finishes – such as brushed, tumbled or matte – to create a beautiful, high-quality necklace or bracelet that is truly unique.

Each student will be provided with a starter kit which includes saw blades, sandpaper, and up to 30 grams of silver – enough to make many links.

At the end of this course, you will have explored the art of:

  • Design development
  • Forming jump rings
  • Intricate soldering
  • Finishing.

A small selection of silver and other materials are also available for purchase through the studio if required.
