Adelaide alternative engagement rings

To you, it’s more than an engagement ring. It’s the love story of you and your better half. A promise that you make to love each other unconditionally. The symbol of your new life together. Which is why your engagement ring should be as unique as you are – after all, no one has a love quite like yours.

We understand the importance your engagement ring brings to your relationship. But choosing your ring from the same-looking collection of diamonds can be limiting – especially if they don’t align with your style, values or ethics. So where do you turn?

To us, of course. We’re excited to announce that we will soon be launching our new range of Adelaide alternative engagement rings – stunning sapphires set in an elegant claw setting. You can choose your new engagement ring from our upcoming collection or have it custom-made to suit you or your special person’s taste. What is an alternative engagement ring?

When most of us think of engagement rings, we think of a sparkling white diamond set on a dazzling band of gold. However, for many people, diamonds symbolise hardship, aren’t to their taste, or are just way out of their budget.

An alternative engagement ring means different things to different people. But usually, it refers to a non-traditional ring that is unconventional in either stone choice, design, colour – or all three.

Nothing is stopping you from choosing something a little less orthodox – like a platinum ring with a black diamond. Just be sure to do your research first and find the right ring that will stand the test of time.

Why choose sapphire for your Adelaide alternative engagement ring?

Sapphires come in an array of gorgeous colours

Opt for an engagement ring that reflects your or your significant other’s unique personality and flair through various colours and tones. Sapphires aren’t just limited to deep, navy blues – they come in luscious greens and even vivid yellows. These stones show their depth of colour and change tones in different lights – natural best the best to show the sapphire’s true beauty.

Sapphires are suitable for everyday wear

Diamonds are a popular choice for engagement rings because they are hard, durable and long-lasting – perfect for wearing every day. But for those looking for something different, sapphires are second in line as the hardest stone available. So providing that you give it the love and care it needs, your sapphire engagement ring will last for years to come.

Sapphires are unique

In a world full of diamonds, a striking sapphire certainly stands out. Choosing a sapphire for your engagement ring immediately sets you or your loved one apart from the crowd. And because of variances in shades, no two sapphires are alike – even if they’re the same colour. This makes your Adelaide alternative engagement ring truly original.

Our sapphire solitaire rings make unique, one-of-a-kind alternative engagement rings

Our sapphires are ethically sourced from Australia

Supporting local and Australian businesses is important to us. That’s why all our sapphires are sourced from ethical Australian mines. These mines are run by small operations that lightly touch the planet with low-tech mining procedures, carefully returning everything they remove (excluding the sapphires, of course!) to the Earth.

Australia also has stricter laws and guidelines for the mining industry than other countries, ensuring that our stones will always be responsibly sourced.

Our sapphire solitaire engagement rings are made from high-quality materials

At Claire Brooks, all of our jewellery, from necklaces, earrings and even engagement rings, is handmade with love from high-grade materials. With the proper care, this ensures that your Adelaide alternative engagement ring will last the test of time.

Being handmade, we use thicker material than you’ll find in mass-produced jewellery. So from the beginning, you will own a beautiful ring that is of the highest quality. To ensure that your piece continues to look its best, we recommend visiting our studio every six months for a maintenance check and clean.

Our sapphire solitaire engagement rings are lovingly made by hand

As jewellery designers, we had a clear vision of our Adelaide alternative engagement rings. We wanted the timeless style of a traditional engagement ring to highlight the beauty of our sapphires. The classic claw setting was a perfect choice – simple yet refined and elegant, with a contemporary touch.

Our engagement rings can be made from white, yellow and rose gold or even platinum. We hand-form the metal and put it through our rollers until it stretches into the thickness we want, then file it all to shape by hand. We even round the ring form using nothing more than our hands, tools and keen eyes.

After all that work, you’ll be left with an Adelaide-made engagement ring that is truly yours. Unique, individual and unlike any other ring on the market. A true statement of your love and life with your new partner.

Our sapphire solitaire engagement rings are almost ready for launch, and we can’t wait! Contact us to learn more about our Adelaide alternative engagement rings. Or send us your email, and we’ll let you know when our sapphire engagement rings are available.

Plastic Soup Sculptures in the Making
I have been making wearable Plastic Soup pieces for some time now to explore and engage people with the issue of excess plastics circulating our oceans. The response has been really positive, however, I have observed people struggling with the tiny scale of the work. Given their intimate location on the body, some people have been too shy to approach the pieces whilst others miss them altogether. In response to this, I wanted to experiment by removing the pieces from the body and increasing their size to see whether larger sculptural works would be more successful in engaging my audience.
